    Dining out at restaurants is a fairly easy experience once you know what you are looking for.  I will cover a few different cuisine types, with Lebanese and Turkish coming out on top as the most enjoyable and most suitable for an alkaline night out.

    Turkish/Lebanese

    You can’t go too wrong with this type of cuisine as they use a lot of vegetables and 100% alkaline condiments.  Choose wisely for an 80/20 selection and eat to your hearts content.

    * Hummus Beiruty – Hummus with lemon juice, hot pepper and parsley

    * Hommus Balela- chickpeas with lemon juice, olive oil & garlic

    * Tabouleh – Parsley, tomatoes, lemon juice, mint, crushed wheat (or quinoa) and olive oil

    * Stuffed Vine Leaves – stuffed with rice, parsley, mint, tomato, lemon juice & olive oil

    * Foul Madamas – Broadbeans with lemon juice, olive oil & garlic

    * Lentil Soup

    * Salads – Spicy Salad, Tomato & Onion, Fattoush, Mixed Vegetables

    80/20 Meals – better options for fuller meals

    * Lamb with Vegetables, Chicken with vegetables, Stuffed Cabbage

    ..

    Thai

    ** Remember to ask for your meals prepared with no sugar

    * Veges stir fried with ginger/chillies/onion/sweet basil and other herbs or tofu

    * Stir Fry mixed veges, Stir fried broccoli (they do it nice and light)

    80/20 Meals

    * Red and Green Vegetable/Tofu Curries come out on top, even with a little bit of rice, this is the best option

    * Pad Thai noodles with vegetables

    * Tom Yum soups

    Chinese

    * Mixed vegetables, Choi Sum, Pak Choi, Stir fry bean sprouts, Stir fry french beans, Stir fry broccoli

    * San Choi Bow

    * Prawns/Chicken/Beef with mixed veges

    Indian

    Usual Indian restaurant fare is not that fantastic for alkalising, high in oils and other trans fatty acids (the fried stuff), sugars and full fat sauces.  So choose carefully.

    * Channa Pindi – chickpeas prepared with onions & tomatoes

    * Mixed Vegetable Curry

    * Baingan Bhurta – grilled aubergines sauteed with onions, tomatoes, chilli’s and ginger

    * Mixed Salad

    80/20 Meals

    * Dal Makhani – Urad Dal and red kidney beans flavoured with cumin seeds

    * Vegetable Biryani (yum)

    Italian

    Salad of chicory hearts

    Mixed Vegetable Soup

    Wild Chicory Salad with capers & anchovies

    Endive Salad with Pear

    Green beans with olive oil

    Broccoli, garlic and chilli

    80/20 Meals

    Crab & Avocado salad with tomato dressing

    Mozzarella with avocado, tomato & basil

    Lentil Soup

    Vegetable Pasta

    Fish with steamed/grilled vegetables

    * Mixed Salad

    * Broccoli, Cauliflower and Celeriac casserole

    * Asparagus with tomato & herb dressing

    * Smoked Salmon & Asparagus

    * Fish with baby vegetables

    * Tomato salad with black olive oil, basil & red onion

    * Cauliflower croquette with vegetables

    Spanish

    * Large Gordal olives with olive oil & orange

    * Salted Marcona almonds

    * Spicy toasted broad beans

    * Catalan spinach with pinenuts and raisins

    * Green salad

    * Spinach omelette

    * Pan fried Seabass with beetroot and orange salad

    * Tomatoes, tuna and beetroot sprouts

    Japanese

    * Sashimi with avocado & Salad

    Japanese is quite easy being able to choose whatever you want to be made on the spot. Great for 80/20 meals out!
