» Warm Weather Alkalising

The beauty of warmer weather is that we tend to want to drink more and eat healthier.   Its important to increase your fluid intake especially if you take up a seasonal sport.

    Fruits and Veges

Many fruits and vege come into season in summer, so its important to stock up on fresh local produce where you can, and stop consuming those that have been in cold storage. Avocadoes are a classic example.

Greens are also in abundance, so make use of the longer days to enjoy salads with delicious oils and toppings. You will also be able to get baby or ‘micro greens’ and sprouts which are seriously tasty.

Tropical fruits are usually in abundance, so if you use these as your 20%, try not to go overboard. Enjoy them, but not excessively.

    Skin Brushing

Remember to keep using that skin brush. Its important now to also expose your skin to the sun more (with care) so that your body can use the light and Vitamin D.  If you have a tan, the skin brushing will deepen your tan and keep it in existence for much longer without the need for hours in the sun to get colour.

    Water Intake

Its really important to sip your water through the day and get the hydration you need. When you become thirsty, its often too late.  Sip when you are not thirsty, and often.

If you are in a humid country, you may not feel the natural desire to consume water, so its even more important that you do.

    Aloe Vera & Lavender

If you have the tendency to burn in the sun, or your skin dries out, a pure aloe vera solution will help to nourish and hydrate your skin.  You can buy gels, or just slice half an aloe leaf and use the gel straight onto your skin. The other good one is pawpaw gel or balms.

Lavender essential oil is particularly useful for burns, you can apply it neat or diluted in apricot or jojoba oil.  As it is a sedative, if you apply it neat, it will absorb straight into the blood stream and may make you sleepy.
