Lemons v pH booster drops….

For years we have been pumped with ‘buy oxygenating booster drops’ to raise the pH of your water and increase the oxygen.

For many who use them, they complain about constipation and bloating…..why? Because the liver and kidneys stop functioning as well, and the gallbladder gets backed up, meaning that it doesn’t release bile…and without bile release there is often no bowel motion.

I dont use pH drops nor do I subscribe to their use. Lets keep it simple. The use of lemon juice diluted in water (a pint of warm water in the morning with the squeeze of half a lemon) goes a long way to cleaning out the kidneys and liver. It raises the pH and oxygen of your water, and is not a problem to use if you are on medication (like pH drops are). It also causes bile release, so if you are constipated or sluggish, this is the way through.

Lemons are also highly alkaline and taste much better than drops. They are also readily available at any grocer or supermarket!

So there is a 20p better method v the £49.99 drops. I know which one Im in favour of.

Go the lemon…go the lemon…go the lemon…

Salt – the word on the street is beef.

Salt is good for us, right?  Some salt, the right kind of salt, for most of us, yes, is good for us as it alkalises the blood and tissues and literally ‘turns the lights on’. We also need salt for other metabolic processing in the body…but what happens when we get too much?

That could be, because we are ingesting too much salt water (as some practitioners suggest) or getting too much on our food and in our products.

The intake of salt, is not black and white.  Just like there are mild alkalising regimes, and heavy alkalising regimes. How do you know if you actually need salt?  Simple, the body will crave it, and it will crave sugar as well.  Some people with certain metabolic blue prints will be able to handle the intake of salt, but more importantly, others will not.

The ones who cannot, may experience bloating, wind, heart palpitations, bloated eyes (underneath) and bloated limbs and joints. If so, you want to stop what you are doing immediately.  If you are taking any kind of medication, do not add extra salt.

There is a current ’suck it and see’ promotion with salt in our community. If you try it, and if you do not experience any side effects, then you are ok, apparently. If you try it, have made the expensive purchase, and you get the side effects, then what?  Too late to return the salt, and your body needs to eliminate the excess which is often uncomfortable.

Alkalising is not a one size fits all approach, no blanket covering here.   Wouldn’t you rather know upfront if more salt is required for your exact body metabolic blueprint instead of just being told to ‘take it’ because its good for alkalising?

If you are taking salts, you just need to know that your body’s requirement for this product will shift over time as you increase your alkaline buffers.  This means that you must reduce your intake.

Of something else to note: since the strong promotion of salts started 18 months ago from Dr Young, we are now finding that clients are ‘oversalting’ themselves and causing other upsets in their body because they didn’t get their sodium levels checked.   As you could imagine these people are not happy campers.

Ingesting ‘extra salt’ in your diet really requires your accountability – you need to get proper advice from a reputable practitioner if this is a good move for your body, not because it came in an email.  It must be appropriate, for you.

What’s it got to do with beef?  Nothing, its the topic that is my beef.
